Nigeria: Update: Pirates kidnap two officers, three crew from vessel off Bonny
Pirates who boarded the Panama-flagged merchant vessel Oya 1 some 15 nm southwest of Bonny Island on 30 July kidnapped two officers and three crew members. The Nigerian navy towed the ship to a safe port for investigation following the attack. There were no immediate ransom demands reported. Niger Delta-based pirates frequently stage kidnap-at-sea attacks.
